What's in your handbag?

A couple of weeks ago while reading some blogs I noticed that Curved Opinion and LoJo have been doing this MoneySupermarket thing and I thought I'd get involved too. I've only just got round to taking some decent pictures hence the massive delay between reading about the competition and actually doing my own post.

If you can't be bothered clicking on that link up there they're running a competition where you can win a Mulberry Bayswater handbag, purse and phone case. There's even prizes for runners up.  I'd click on that link if I were you, there's some genuinely interesting information on that page, a damn sight more interesting than what you're about to read here, anyway.

I've sifted out all the sweet wrappers, old tissues and receipts so I don't look like a total tramp and what's left is here in this post...

The bag itself is years old, it's by Crafted and was from Republic, I bought it mainly because it had little skulls on. I can't even remember how much it cost, I'd guess about £25, to replace it with something similar I'd go with this £22.80 by Firetrap.

Here's what I cram inside it...

At the back of the picture is a make up bag I haven't listed everything that's in there but I'd guess at it coming to about £50, then there's a purse which was about £5 from Primark

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain Balm in Honey £7.99 from Boots

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Muse £8.99 from Boots

Collection 2000 Khol Eyeliner £1.99 from Superdrug

Primark lipstick £1 - this is the one that gets me the most compliments despite it being almost neon, it's quite embarrassing to admit it's Primark.

Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Organdi Rose (which looks way more brown on that link than it is in real life) - £24 from Debenhams

Also pictured, more pens than I actually need.

My Kindle on the far left, I like to make sure I have this with me if I'm on public transport, anything to block out other people. Naturally, it's in a leopard print case. It's the old keyboard version and f I needed to replace it the closest thing I'd get on Amazon now is the 3G paperwhite which is £169 from Amazon

My beloved iPod, I don't go anywhere without this, even if I'm in my car I have it because I can play it through my car radio using bluetooth, I was bereft when I broke my old one £329.00 from Apple

Monkey notebook for when I think of something I might want to waffle about here. This is where I wrote all my notes when the man in front of us was getting on my nerves in the theatre

Sunglasses from Primark, I never buy expensive ones because this way I don't feel guilty when I sit on them or lose them

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb EDT currently £45.83 from Debenhams

My purse is on the top of this pile, it was about £5 from Primark and was a gift from Ian because it is bad luck to buy your own purse (honestly) and this was the only leopard one I really liked, he's not a cheapskate

My iphone is the only other thing (after my iPod) that I never leave the house without, how else could I keep Twitter up to date with morons in the gym or other such tripe? To replace it sim free would be £529.99 from Apple

At the bottom of the pile is my notebook for things I've been squandering my wages on and my diary which is the only thing that helps me remember what it is I'm meant to be doing with myself.

So in total that works out at £1,195.59 I'm lugging round with me, and that doesn't include things like my car keys or any money (unlikely) that's actually inside my purse. Quite frightening when you think about it, really.

What are you carting round in your handbag?

  2. I feel famous getting a mention! How embarrassing is it when you actually realise how much crap (tissues, sweet wrappers, receipts) are in the bottom of your bag? No wonder I can never find anything. x
